The Cottage “Stua”

The cottage “Stua” is the main building at the Jonrud homestead in Telemark. The cottage is nestled in an idyllic location by Lake Follsjø, surrounded by fields with grazing sheep and a meticulously maintained flower meadow. The historical Norwegian cottage underwent a complete renovation in the summer of 2023.

Experience a unique Norwegian cottage

The space has been thoughtfully furnished to reflect its Norwegian historical charm, with carefully selected interior and decor. Here, you can experience tranquility and warmth in a truly Norwegian unique atmosphere.

The cottage comprises a spacious area with an open living room and kitchen, a comfortable sofa, a dining table, and a wood stove. In the kitchen, you'll find a stove and a fridge with a freezer. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two family bunk beds, providing accommodation for a total of 8 people, including children. The cabin itself does not have running water, but a new bathroom with a shower and toilet is available in the nearby barn.

The cottage boasts its own patio in the yard, complete with a spacious dining table and a gas grill.

Follsjø beach is conveniently within walking distance from the cottage, and a private swimming area is just a one-minute walk away. You'll also find a simple boat and a canoe available for use during the summer months. Access to the cottage by car is easy via FV602.
